Our Team

A small team, an unbounded mandate.

The Rock Welfare Project was founded in 2026 after its director, following a career spent expanding the moral circle outward, concluded that the circle's underlying logic did not obviously terminate at biology.

Advisory Board

Our advisory board comprises four practising geologists who are supportive of our methods while remaining personally unconvinced of the premise.

We consider this the healthiest possible relationship between an organisation and its advisors. They keep our geology honest; we keep their moral circle uncomfortable. We are grateful for their time and their scepticism in equal measure.

We are a small organisation and hire rarely, but we are always glad to hear from people who find the argument hard to dismiss.
